Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/- On a working visit to Ialoveni district, Prime Minister Ion Chicu had a meeting today with representatives of local public authorities, and discussed local issues and solutions to overcome them, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Chicu informed APL representatives about the budget situation this year and the trends in budget revenues in the third quarter. "The budgetary situation is stabilizing, even if it was severely affected by the pandemic. The government will meet all commitments to the citizens. Starting today, 660 thousand beneficiaries of social assistance will receive one-off allowances worth 900 lei. The government will continue policies to support the financially vulnerable people."
He approached the need to continue the investments in infrastructure, including in Ialoveni district. In this context, the government has allocated for 2020 about 1 billion lei for the repair of urban roads, and over 100 million lei for the maintenance of national, local public roads and streets for Ialoveni district.
Chicu also spoke about the problem of unauthorized landfills, which requires an approach at both central and local level. "We have plans to create an infrastructure for collecting and processing solid waste, and it is also important to manage problems at the local level. We must apply sanctions to those who dump their waste in unauthorized places," he said.
APL representatives discussed with the prime minister the need for major repairs to cultural buildings and educational institutions in several localities, the problem of water supply, lack of sewerage systems and the danger of floods caused by muddy rivers. Chicu said that the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment will carry out an inventory of the country's rivers and will launch a program to clean them up. "We have unpleasant situations due to floods in several districts, we must remove the cause, because the damage will cost us more," he said.
Chicu noted that the dialogue with the APL representatives will continue through the government representatives in the territory.
