Deadline for submitting documents in race for Moldovan president office expires

Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/ - The period of reception of documents for the registration of candidates for the office of Moldova’s president expired today.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, eight competitors at the most might run for the post of Moldovan president on 1 November.
Thus, six electoral contenders were registered and the files of another two candidates are under consideration.
Under the Electoral Code, the period of nomination of candidates for the office of president starts 60 days before the election day (1 September 2020) and ends 30 days ahead of the election day (today, 1 October).
