Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/- Education workers today mark their Professional Day. On this occasion, teachers in our country were congratulated by several officials.
“Throughout our troubled history, teachers have been at the forefront of those who have demanded justice and truth, guided their disciples to new accomplishments, had the courage to face untruth, have shown love and perseverance in promoting youth. We are called to face the new challenges, capitalize on opportunities offered by new technologies, perpetuate our identity in a world of globalization ", Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sarov said.
The teachers were also congratulated by the head of state. "Congratulations and good health, inspiration and achievements in line with expectations, successes that bring joy to you and your loved ones. We are with you to act together, face the challenges with dignity and to look back over the years with satisfaction ", Igor Dodon said.
"You are the people who take children to a new world and help them learn to read and face the obstacles of life. May your work, one of the noblest and most important, bring you daily student gratitude and professional satisfaction. The state of emergency in public health dictates new approaches in the organization of your activity. Aware of this fact, the parliament recently adopted the package of measures to support teachers under the economic effects of COVID-19 ", Speaker Zinaida Greceanii said.
"Education must become the absolute priority of our society, or the problems we have in this field put a big question mark on the future of our country and the Moldovan people. Along with medicine, education must be provided with financial resources, which would allow the development of the field and adapting education to the highest standards. I strongly believe that this goal is achievable", Prime Minister Ion Chicu said.
