Medical institutions of Moldova to receive 20 ventilators for people sick with COVID-19

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/ - The medical institutions of Moldova will receive 20 ventilators for people sick with COVID-19. Health Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect today.
According to Dumbraveanu, those 20 ventilators are bought within the World Bank’s project, Emergency Response to COVID-19 in Moldova, and will distributed to medical and sanitary institutions of Moldova, which have intensive therapy sections.
Also, 400 infusomats, 200 monitors for checking the health condition of patients and 42 electrocardiographs purchased within the project as well, will be distributed to the institutions.
At the same time, the health minister noted that the institution was assessing and identifying 300 additional beds in municipal medical and sanitary institutions, in order to cope with the number of patients infected with COVID-19. ‘’Wee identify additional solutions to supplement the number of beds also at the Clinical Hospital of the Health Labour and Social Protection Minister, as well as at the Republican Narcology Health Centre,’’ Dumbraveanu specified.
Statistics data shows that 56,579 cases of new-type coronavirus have been recorded in Moldova so far.
