As many as 714 people sick with COVID-19 put in Chisinau-based hospitals

Chisinau, 5 October /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 714 people sick with COVID-19, of whom 245 in serious condition and  17 intubated ones,  are put in hospitals of Moldova’s capital. Also, 165,940 patients with light forms are monitored at primary medical institutions.  The head of the social assistance and health department at the Chisinau city hall, Tatiana Bucearschi, presented data to this effect today.     

According to Bucearschi, the situation in terms of COVID-19 remains alarming in the Chisinau municipality. The number of contamination cases increases and the forecasts are not friendly. Bucearschi made a new call to the residents, urging them to observe the measures of protection against COVID-19: compulsory wearing of protection mask in agglomerated places and closed spaces, washing hands as often as possible, disinfection of surfaces, periodical airing of rooms, avoiding agglomerated places. Also, parents who educate minor children are urged not to allow them being on playgrounds.  

The municipal authorities informed that they were presently considering possibility to increase the number of places in hospital institutions, in order to cope with the large number of disease cases.
