Moldova, Romania to sign agreement on equivalence of diplomas

Chisinau, 6 October /MOLDPRES/- Moldova and Romania will sign an agreement on equivalence of diplomas, according to a statement by Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sarov.
He said that MECC prepared the document, it will be sent for approval to Bucharest.
"I hope that in a short time it will go through approval procedures and will be beneficial for Moldovan and Romanian citizens. Now, under signing this act, those with a 10th and 11th grade diploma will be recognized the document", he said.
The official also referred to the recognition of diplomas before the Bologna Process and after, if the institution is accredited, it will also be recognized in Romania.
The main goal of the Bologna Process is to create a European Higher Education Area based on international cooperation and academic exchange to facilitate the mobility of students, teachers and researchers and prepare young people for future careers and active citizenship in European democratic societies. Currently, 48 states are members of the Bologna Process. The Republic of Moldova joined the Bologna Process in May 2005.
