Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at today’s meeting, voted for the approval of a draft law on the production, sale and use of reproduction forestry material. The draft, which transposes more European acts in the field, is to be submitted to parliament for consideration.
The provisions of this law establish the measures on the production, commercialization and use of the reproduction forestry material. At the same time, its stipulations do not apply to: the planting material or parts of plants meant for other purposes than the forestry ones; the forestry reproduction material used on personal purpose, for making forestry plantations, on grounds outside the forestry fund and forestry plantations which were not created through financing from special state budget funds.
Also, the measures provided for in this law do not apply to the reproduction forestry material which is meant for the re-export to the European Union member states and exporting countries, which highlights the same exigency as to the approval of the basic material and production of the reproduction forestry material as in Moldova.
The draft law includes the lists of species of trees, bushes and artificial hybrids which are important for forestry goals; criteria of delimiting the regions of origin; minimum requirements for certifying the basic material meant for the production of the reproduction material certified as ‘’identified source,’’ ‘’selected,’’ ‘’qualified,’’ ‘’tested’’; integration of reproduction forestry materials according to categories, depending on the basic material approved, etc.
The draft was worked out by the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry along with the Moldsilva Forestry Agency and has the goal to optimize the national forestry sector.
