Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s delegation has described the actions of the so-called mgb in the Security Zone as provocative and destabilizing, at a meeting of the members of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) on 8 October, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

The violent entrance of armed persons in the Security Zone, the kidnapping of the Moldovan policeman from the Floresti police inspectorate on 7 October, followed by sequestration of other persons on the same day, defies not only the basic acts of the peacekeeping operation, but represents a flagrant infringement of the fundamental human rights and the law-enforcement bodies of Moldova will make the legal assessment of these unlawful deeds.

The disorder the representatives of the aforementioned structure afford shows that the situation in the Security Zone gets out of the control of the Joint Control Commission and that the Transnistrian side undertakes undisguised attempts to fully discredit the present peacekeeping mechanism.

Moldova’s delegation called on the other participants in the works of the Commission to join the message of condemning the illegal deeds of kidnapping people in the Security Zone and support the demand of their immediate release.

The proposal by Moldova’s delegation to consider, at the meeting, the lawless actions, committed by the so-called mgb in Camenca on the last days, was turned down by the Transnistrian side.

The Transnistrian side also did not want to hear the military commander as to the presence of servicemen subordinated to Tiraspol at a mass rally, accompanied by a presentation of fire guns, held on 27 September 2020, with the infringement of the regime established in the Bender city – district with enhanced security regime.

The Transnistrian delegation also did not allow for discussion the issue on the introduction, as of 1 May 2019, of ‘’border guards’’ in the Security Zone and their abusive empowerment with duties of control over people.

As a result, because of an agenda approved, the meeting could not be opened.

At a proposal by Russia’s delegation, the JCC meeting was postponed for the next week, for additional consultations on all subjects on which consensus was not reached.
