Moldovan PM meets mayors from more settlements at government

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today discussed with the mayors of the towns of Hancesti, Ialoveni, as well as of the villages Mihuleni, northern Soldanesti district, and Crocmaz, south-eastern Stefan Voda district. At the meeting, the mayors referred to the problems faced in the region and possibilities of solving them, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The mayor of the Hancesti town, Alexandru Botnari, brought for discussion the need to connect the town to the water and sewerage supply networks. He noted that, in this respect, more projects had been prepared, and a technical expertise would be carried out soon. The implementation of an aqueduct in the town would allow connecting 12 settlements from the district to the network. Also, Botnari stressed the necessity to repair the national roads which cross the centre of the Hancesti town.  

PM Ion Chicu showed interest in the projects proposed, noting that the supply with water and the connection to the sewerage networks were the government’s priorities.   

„The fact that more than half of the residents are connected to water and sewerage supply systems concerns us. Therefore, to improve the access to the water supply networks, investments worth one billion lei are planned on the period 2020-2023,’’ the prime minister said.

The Ialoveni town mayor, Sergiu Armasu, tackled a string of problems faced by the residents from the region. Among them, there are: repair of the road to the Milestii Mici complex, extending the trolley bus route No 36, control of the quality of the passenger transport services provided on the inter-urban route No 35 (mini-buses), considering the compensation of damages for the citizens hit by the last summer natural calamities.  Also, the mayor said the problem of solid waste was of increased interest.     

PM Ion Chicu said the subject on waste deposits needed to be approached at the central and local levels. The prime minister stressed the necessity to create an infrastructure for the collection and processing of solid waste.

Chicu had a discussion with the Mihuleni village mayor, Andrei Cojocaru. The sides analyzed the problems and needs of the settlement. An important subject regards the implementation of a project on the construction of the roof of the community centre from the settlement.

Also, the prime minister was informed about the situation in the Crocmaz village, Stefan Voda district. The settlement’s mayor, Ion Velesco, highlighted the need to revive the irrigation system, which would supply farmers from four settlements of the region. The participants in the discussion also pointed out the topic of roads’ infrastructure, especially the restoration of the settlement’s 2.2-km-long road of access to the national road R-30. Ion Velesco also touched upon the repair of the community centre, which needs connection to gas supply and renovation of the heating system.    

In the context, Ion Chicu welcomed the way of communication and cooperation. He also said that the dialogue with local public authorities’ representatives would continue through government’s representatives in the territory.
