Ministry of Economy presented report on state of National Philharmonic

Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) presented today the expert report on the state of the National Philharmonic Serghei Lunchevici within the working group for the identification of technical solutions to rehabilitate the cultural building affected by the fire.

The MEI representative presented the preliminary technical expertise report, in which the experts commented on the technical condition of the building. According to the document, following the technical accident caused by the fire of the National Philharmonic building, a damaged area was formed with collapsed constructions and degraded constructive elements, which present a danger of failure.

The experts found that at this stage of the examination, the accumulations of collapsed constructions do not allow a detailed examination of the resistance structure of the construction for the elaboration of conclusions and proposals regarding possible interventions on the object.

The working group recommended to the Central Public Administration Authority specialized in Culture the elaboration of a feasibility study on the reconstruction of the National Philharmonic, with the evaluation of the necessary expenses, and the Project Concept on the future of the objective.

On 24 September a fire burned over 3,500 m2 in the building of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic.
