Moldovan electoral body establishes order of contenders in ballot paper for polls due on 1 November

Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today established the order of registration of electoral contenders in the ballot paper for the presidential polls due on 1 November 2020.
Under the CEC’s decision, Renato Usatii, nominated by the Our Party Political Party, will be the first on the ballot paper. He will be followed by Andrei Nastase, nominated by the Dignity and Truth Platform Political Party, Tudor Deliu from the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova, Igor Dodon, nominated by people’s assembly, Violeta Ivanov, nominated by the Shor Political Party, and Maia Sandu, nominated by the Action and Solidarity Political Party. The last ones on the ballot paper will be Octavian Ticu, nominated by the National Unity Party and Dorin Chirtoaca, nominated by the UNIREA (UNION) electoral bloc.
CEC set that the ballot paper would have a length of 236 mm and a width of 140 mm. Its upper part will have the inscription BULETIN DE VOT (BALLOT PAPER); the type of the polls – ‘’for elections of Moldova’s President’’ and the date of the ballot – 1 November 2020 will appear beneath.
Two numbers will be put down beneath: on the left side – the order number of the electoral district and on the right side – the order number of the polling station. In each quadrilateral, the symbol of the electoral contender will be printed on the left side and on the right side – a circle, in which the voter is to put the stamp with the inscription Votat (Voted). The ballot paper will be printed on dark smoky gray paper.
Also today, CEC took a decision on the number of copies of ballot papers for the polls due on 1 November 2020 for the polling stations from abroad. There are 556,000 copies in all, of which 467,000 copies in Romanian and 88,400 – in Russian.
