Moldova to produce Remdesevir preparation, used to treat Covid-19

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Medicine and Medical Devices Agency (AMDM) informs that it is in advanced discussions with native producers, as well as with the authorities from other states, in order to be able to produce the preparation Remdesivir as soon as possible. This medicine is used in more complicated cases in the treatment of COVID-19 in the European Union and the USA.

„This means that Moldova will be able to supply, including through local producers, Remdesivir, according to the formula established by the basic producer. This means, first of all, the provision with this preparation in a quite short period: when it is demanded, the product is present. The second aspect is the accessibility – there is the price, which will also be diminished, if the transport, logistic expenses are not borne,’’ the AMDM director, Eremei Priseajniuc, said at a TV programme.

The Medicine Agency has negotiated with European and international medical institutions and besides those 2,000 doses earlier authorized, Moldova will soon buy another 5,000 bottles of Remdesivir, after the import authorization was signed.
