Group specializing in counterfeiting disinfectants dismantled by police

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- A criminal ring specializing in counterfeiting disinfectants, which operated under the cover of two local companies, was dismantled following an investigation by law enforcement authorities.

According to the Border Police, the disinfectant was produced in a laboratory and illegal section in Chisinau, where the investigators conducted searches and other unexpected procedural measures.

In addition to disinfectant, the group also sells other counterfeit products.

During investigations, cases of infection with COVID-19 were registered in the organizations where such counterfeit products were used and delivered as "disinfectant" or "sanitizer".

At present, the expertise of these products is available, and it is suspected that several chemical compounds have been added to them, including methanol, as well as emollients with harmful effects on the health of those who use them.
