Several schools in Moldova received computers donated by South Korea

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC) today sent 50 laptops to 30 educational institutions in 26 territorial-administrative units, amounting to about two million lei, donated by partners in South Korea. Each institution will receive five computers.
Attending the event, Minister Igor Sarov said that the priority of MECC is to equip as many educational institutions in the country with computers, and “in this respect, the support of development partners is extremely important."
According to MECC, in November, another donation of 150 computers will be received from South Korean partners.
The donation is part of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the information and communication technologies between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova and the Special Self-Government Office for Education of Jeju Province of Korea.
The memorandum provides for several joint activities, such as the provision of computers for general education institutions in the Republic of Moldova, the training of computer science teachers, the exchange of good practices on the implementation of Information and Communication Technologies in education.
According to the memorandum, during 2016-2019, the Special Self-Government Office for Education of Jeju Province of Korea has donated 600 computers (150 each year). Computers were distributed in schools in Moldova.
