Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today pays a working visit to the central Nisporeni district, where he had discussions with local public authorities of the first and second levels, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The main subjects approached were dealing with the epidemiological situation and problems faced by people from this region. The finishing of the projects on settlements’ supply with water, roads’ repair and maintenance, lack of jobs, backing young entrepreneurs and creation of irrigation systems for agriculture are some of the difficulties set forth by the people present at the meeting.

At the meeting with the leadership of the Nisporeni district and the settlements, the PM referred to actions undertaken by the cabinet at present to combat the pandemic, create needed conditions for the electoral process to take place in maximum of safety for citizens’ health, as well as maintaining a fiscal balance in all social sectors.

„This is a difficult year; yet, although the pandemic has substantially hit our economy, the budgetary situation is under control. We have managed to increase the salaries of the physicians and provide the pensioners with the 900-lei-worth one-off aid,’’ the prime minister said.

Ion Chicu also pointed out the fact that the cabinet was further focusing on the development of the economy, massive allocations for roads’ infrastructure, as well as attraction of investments to more districts.

„This year, we launched a programme on arrangement of 18 Multifunctional Industrial Platforms (PIM). I urge you to identify the ground and prepare the technical project, so that we include the Nisporeni district in this programme as well. For 2020, 50 million lei has been already identified from the state budget to create the infrastructure necessary for these PIM. Thus, we suggest attracting more investors in Moldova and start an intense process of the country’s industrialization. This will generate new jobs, will improve the living standards and, obviously, the people’s well-being,’’ the prime minister specified.

PM Chicu visited the Youth and Sport Centre, under reconstruction.

"The renovation of the complex started three years ago, but over the lack of funds, it was ceased. In the last spring, the works were resumed and the play room is repaired at present, the reconstruction of the hotel is finished and the stadium is arranged. The overall cost of the project is 134 million lei, with 60.4 million lei turned to account so far,’’ the prime minister said.
