As many as 792 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 3,724 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 792 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which six import cases. As many as 66,652 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.  

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 49 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians – 20, medical assistants –20, auxiliary staff employees – 9.

The health condition of the people hit is as follows: 878 are in serious condition, of whom 37 patients are connected to assisted breathing. At the same time, 1,494 patients are in medium seriousness condition and the other patients and in satisfactory condition.  

Another 687 people were treated and discharged today. As many as 47,230 persons have been healed of COVID-19 in all.

In the context, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 20 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and there are 1,569 people dead of coronavirus in all. Among the dead people, there is a 57-year-old woman pharmacist from the Hancesti District Hospital. So far, 43 medical employees have died because of COVID-19.
