Campaign on proper waste collection launched in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/- A new start for people and nature - is the slogan of a campaign launched in European Green Week 2020 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM) in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, ABS Recycling, the Association for Waste Recovery and EU4Environment in Moldova. Organizers urge people to collect and deliver properly household waste for recycling.

Thus, to increase awareness of citizens on the importance of separate collection, four bins were set at MADRM for separate collection and delivery to recycling waste paper, plastic, glass, electrical and electronic equipment, and employees were urged to collect waste separately ex officio.

MADRM State Secretary Maxim Popov proposed that the action should be taken over and carried out within the central and local public authorities, the buildings of private companies, public associations etc. to increase the efficiency of waste recovery, to increase the awareness of officials and public in this regard, as well as to promote the circular economy and reduce the impact on the environment.

Moldova participates in the European Green Week 2020 on 19-23 October. This year's theme of the event is nature, biodiversity and the European Green Pact, aimed to highlight the contribution of biodiversity to economic development, societal health and stimulate recovery.
