About 500 km of roads restored within Good Roads for Moldova 2020 programme

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - The restoration of about 500 km of roads within the Good Roads for Moldova 2020 programme has been finished, according to the State Administration of Roads (ASD).
The institution said that almost 60 per cent of all investments within the Good Roads for Moldova 2020 programme had been fulfilled, amounting to about 660 million lei, allocated from the state budget.
„Over 221 km of road have been finalized with clothing of asphalt concrete and almost 271 km of road was repaired with gravel road clothing,’’ ASD said.
The works of repair and periodical maintenance within the programme are carried out in 33 districts and the Chisinau and Balti municipalities. More than 2,000 employees are daily involved in the works, of whom 1,000 are workers on construction sites.
Technical decision-makers of the state enterprise, State Administration of Roads, monitor the repair works, ensuring the observance of all standards and technological processes. At the same time, to ensure the quality of the works carried out, samples are collected and testings are carried out at the ASD’s Laboratories of Testings.
The Good Roads for Moldova 2020 programme provides for the periodical repair/maintenance of local, village roads and streets from the country’s settlements. The works are to be completed till the end of this year.
