Organized carriage of voters to polling stations to be banned in Moldova on 1 November

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will not allow the organized carriage of voters to polling stations at the presidential elections on 1 November 2020.
Under a today’s CEC decision, to avoid the transportation of voters to the polling station by electoral contenders or other third persons, only the vehicles the capacity of which is not bigger than eight persons and route buses and mini-buses will be allowed to move all over Moldova on the election day during 07:00-21:00.
If the CEC’s decision is not observed, the Interior Ministry and the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry will undertake measures of registering incidents.
Under the Criminal Code, the corrupting of electors in exchange of the votes given to an electoral contender or through offering money, goods, services or other benefits is punished with fine or imprisonment from one to five years.
