Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/- The pilot program to set up multifunctional industrial platforms, approved by the government is to be made public in the Official Journal on 23 October.
Under the decision, to increase the competitiveness, productivity, employment of the industrial sector in those regions where there are no industrial platforms, it is proposed to create multifunctional industrial platforms (MIPs). The MIP is expected to represent certain fully equipped locations in terms of utilities, which will make them "centers of excellence" for industrial development.
"This is important for Moldova, because in the short and medium term it is impossible to create a high quality infrastructure, necessary for modern industry throughout the country. The promotion of investments in these areas will be based not so much on fiscal incentives, but on facilitating investors' access and implementation in the short term of efficient projects ", the document reads.
The cabinet decided that the Organization for Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises should be designated as implementation unit of the pilot program for creation of multifunctional industrial platforms.
Control over the execution of the decision will be the responsibility of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
The decision enters into force upon publication in the Official Journal.
