Moldovan cabinet buys 2,500 computers for pupils, teachers

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) today received 2,500 computer technology units, which are to reach education institutions of Moldova. The computers were purchased due to the allocation of 20 million lei by the government.
The computers will be distributed based on a government decision worked out by MECC. ‘’The laptops will not be meant for informatics laboratories, but for pupils and teachers, in order to ensure access to education, both in the context of the carrying out of online education and on educational purposes. Or, the mechanism proposed for the distribution of the computer technology deals with the coefficient got from the ratio of the total number of pupils and teachers per district and per country,’’ Education Ministry’s sources said.
Following a tender held to buy the aforementioned laptops, savings remained from the 20 million lei provided by the government, so that another tender was possible to be announced for another 680 laptops, which are to be brought to Moldova till late 2020.
