The unilateral actions of the Tiraspol regime aimed at installing illegal checkpoints along the administrative line, restricting free movement and degrading the human rights situation in the region led to a critical reaction at the OSCE Permanent Council of the United States of America, Ukraine, Turkey, the European Union and its allied states. The OSCE Mission to Moldova and the participating states reviewed aspects of the dialogue between the two banks of the Dniester.

Moldova reiterated its concerns about the destructiveness of deliberate actions of the Tiraspol representatives, affecting the political climate in the 5 + 2 negotiation process, jeopardizes the fulfillment of the commitments of the Berlin plus package, erodes the existing peacekeeping mechanism on the Dniestre.

Given deteriorating situation in the Transnistrian region and the mandate of the OSCE Mission to Moldova and the role of the OSCE Chairmanship, the Moldovan delegation stressed the need to synchronize efforts and mobilize capacity to stop illegal actions and serious abuses used by the separatist regime.

International partners have called on Tiraspol to eliminate illegal posts, ensure free movement along the administrative line, respect human rights in accordance with international law, release persons from illegal detention, ensure the full exercise of property rights and education, to cooperate in the implementation of joint measures aimed at preventing and combating COVID-19.

Regret was voiced on the lack of progress in the withdrawal of Russian troops and ammunition from Moldova, being reconfirmed the position of the Moldovan authorities on full withdrawal of foreign armed forces.

The OSCE participating states reiterated their support for a peaceful, comprehensive and lasting settlement of the Transnistrian conflict based on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders, with a special status for the Transnistrian region.
