Chisinau, 23 October /MOLDPRES/- Moldova Fruct Association, the owner of the well-known brand Moldova - a special taste will more rigorously monitor its use on the domestic and foreign market by fruit producers and exporters. According to a brand use regulation, worked out and approved with the support of the project of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Performing Agriculture in Moldova, this brand can be used only with the consent of Moldova Fruct.

Moldova Fruct registered the right to own the trademark Moldova - a special taste at the State Agency for Intellectual Property in 2014. The establishment of requirements for the use of the trademark is part of the complex of modernization activities, started a few months ago.

The Moldova - a special taste brand is a tool for generic promotion of high quality Moldovan fruits, which comply with the established requirements. "We want to promote this brand as a country fruit brand. Or, the sale of low-quality fruits under this brand affects the image not only of the producer, but also of the country ", executive director of Moldova Fruct Iurie Fala said.

Based on the approved regulation, the Association has created an Evaluation Commission that will ensure the proper management of the trademark and will monitor compliance with the requirements for the exercise of the right of use. The brand will be used with the manufacturer’s trademark. Currently, only members of the Moldova Fruit Association have the right to use the brand: fruit producers or exporters. Subsequently, the right to use the trademark will be extended by non-members of Moldova Fruct.
