As many as 688 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 23 October /MOLDPRES/ -A number of 3,306 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 688 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which five import cases. As many as 70,256 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.      

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 44 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –10, medical assistants –29, auxiliary staff employees – 5.

The health condition of the people hit is as follows: 813 are in serious condition, (of whom 40 patients are connected to assisted breathing); 1,503 are in medium seriousness condition.  

Another 680 people were treated and discharged from hospitals. As many as 51,102 people have been healed of COVID-19 in all.  

A number of 7,532 people are treated at home with easy forms of COVID-19 and 25,301 are under supervision at the domicile.   

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 14 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and there are 1,655 people dead of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a 57-year-old physician neurosurgeon, who had worked at the Emergency Medicine Institute during 33 years. Forty six medical system employees have died because of COVID-19 so far.
