Red Code of COVID-19 maintained in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Red Code of COVID-19 is maintained in the Moldovan capital and its suburbs; in the last week, 743 people infected with coronavirus have been put in Chisinau municipal hospitals, of whom 230 in serious condition.

At a today’s operative meeting of the Chisinau city hall’s services, the head of the social assistance and health department, Tatiana Bucearschi, said that the situation in terms of infection with COVID-19 continued to remain alarming in the Moldovan capital, with the Red Code of alert in the health sector maintained.

„A number of 743 patients confirmed are put in municipal hospitals, of whom 230 are in serious condition, six intubated ones, while another 456 patients are in medium seriousness condition. Also, 19,562 patients are treated at home. As many as 30,995 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the Chisinau municipality so far,’’ Bucearschi noted.

She also said that the social assistance and health department , jointly with the directors of the medical institutions and representatives of the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, were weekly monitoring the situation as to the management of the places allocated for the patients tested positively in Chisinau.
