Embassy of Turkey donates tablets, laptops for teachers, pupils from Moldova

Chisinau, 28 October /MOLDPRES/ - Education, Culture and Research Minister Igor Sarov and Ambassador of Turkey to Moldova Gürol Sökmensüer today participated in an event on reception of a consignment of computer and communication technology, provided by the Embassy of Turkey in Chisinau as material assistance to pupils and teachers from Moldova.   

The consignment contains 140 tablets and six laptops, worth 27,000 euros in all, which will be distributed to pupils and teachers by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC).  

The education minister thanked the Turkish Embassy in Moldova for the consignment of computer technology provided, stressing that the devices were fitting the needs of Moldova’s education system. ‘’Certainly, the pupils, teachers due to use these computers are already good friends of Turkey,’’ Igor Sarov said.

At the same time, the official offered congratulation to the Turkish nation on the occasion of the National Day of Turkey, marked on 29 October.  

For his part, Gürol Sökmensüer said that this assistance provided to the education system represented an example of solidarity with Moldova – a friend and strategic partner of Turkey.

In last September, the Embassy of Turkey in Moldova donated another 151 tablets and 16 laptops for pupils and teachers of the gymnasium from the Ratus village, central Criuleni district, as well as 90 tables and 17 laptops to the gymnasium I. Sincu from the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauz-Yeri. Also, 120 tablets and six laptops were donated to region’s pupils and teachers at the international investment forum from the Gagauz autonomy
