Chisinau, 28 October /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today ruled to provide compensations to the farmers who, for various objective reasons, as well as because of mistakes by representatives of the Local Public Authorities (APL), were not able to benefit from financial assistance, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The decision comes as a result of numerous calls on behalf of enterprises, competent associations, as well as APL, so that those hit by the natural calamities receive compensations for carrying out the autumn works.
After the totalizing of the additional information all over Moldova, on the areas hit by drought and hail, errors were found out consisting in the incorrect transcription of the name of the economic agent, non-inclusion of enterprises in the information presented by APL of the first and second levels for the totalizing report, wrong noting of the name of the crop ore the year of sowing, as well as the late presentation of the generalized information per district.
In the context, Agriculture, Regional and Environment Minister Ion Perju proposed the change of the procedure of providing compensations and replacing the totalizing report by the additional totalizing report including the modification of the term of submitting the files.
Thus, the economic agents who were not able to benefit from compensations through the provisions of the Government Decision No 582/2020, fitting all eligibility criteria, but without being introduced in the totalizing report, will be included in the additional totalizing report and can become potential beneficiaries of compensations.
PM Ion Chicu said that ‘’it is about the providing of support to about 250 economic agents which submitted the documents till 1 July; yet, because of the bureaucracy, they did not benefit from assistance. We must remove this inequity and the enterprises should receive the assistance as quickly as possible.’’
The sum provided for the distribution of compensations will be increased by 24 million lei – allocated from the National Fund of Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment.
