Moldovan tax body announces start of fourth stage of tax lottery

Chisinau, 29 October /MOLDPRES/- The State Tax Service (SFS) announced the completion of the third stage of the Tax Lottery contest and start of the fourth stage of the competition. Since the beginning of the year, 32.87 million transactions worth 9.509 billion lei participated in the Fiscal Lottery, and as a result of the draw, 625 winners were nominated.
The winners won prizes worth 1000 lei (525 people) and 1500 lei (100 people), in the case of the special edition dedicated to the Easter holidays. So far, prizes worth 675 thousand lei have been offered.
The Tax Service warns that, starting with October, the fourth stage of the competition is underway. During the fourth edition (October 1-December 31, 2020), 175 winners will be selected, who will benefit from prizes worth 1000 lei each.
According to the rules of the contest, the participant is any person who has reached the age of 18 and holds a bank card issued by a licensed commercial bank in Moldova, which performs transactions for payment of goods / services the bank card, in our country, and the transaction amount is higher than 30 lei.
The draws for the last stage of this year will take place on 21 January 2021.
The project was launched last year. The total fund of winnings for the development of the fiscal lottery amounts to one million lei, and the winners will be nominated the persons who pay with the card in the commercial units or the service provision units. The contest is organized in four stages by the State Tax Service, in addition being held two special editions on the occasion of Easter or winter holidays, under the Regulation approved by the government in December 2019.
The organization of the contest aims to "combat tax evasion by limiting payments made in cash." The conduct of the Tax Lottery aims to help raise public awareness of making cashless payments by using bank cards.
