Today - day of silence before Sunday's presidential election

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/- Today is the day of silence in the Republic of Moldova, before the presidential elections on 1 November. According to the Electoral Code, electoral agitation is strictly forbidden today and tomorrow.

The Central Electoral Commission warns that during these two days it is not allowed to carry out activities / materials related to elections nor election candidates showing at TV or radio.

Also, candidates cannot make transfers to and from the account indicating Electoral fund.

Continued campaigning by media, candidates and citizens is administrative contravention and is fined from 750 to 1500 lei for private people or from 1750 to 2500 lei for official or electoral contestant.
