Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu was present at the polls in the early hours of the morning together with his wife. He urged citizens to go to the polls and said it was an "extremely responsible exercise today".
He said that he had come in the morning to fulfill his duty as a citizen of the country and noted that the elections were held under special conditions due to the pandemic, with tens of thousands of employees involved in the election process.
"It is important to elect our head of state. The Republic of Moldova has a future. I am sure that every citizen knows what they are voting for. I think I made the right decision ", said Chicu.
Today, more than 3.2 million Moldovan citizens with the right to vote are expected to participate in the presidential elections. Voting centers are open from 07:00 to 21:00.
To validate the elections, at least one third of the number of voters registered in the electoral lists must be present at the polls. If the turnout is lower, the ballot will be declared invalid and will be repeated in two weeks, with the participation of the same candidates.
