Promo-LEX observers found several violations in electoral process

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/- The Promo-LEX Observation Mission of the elections for the position of President of the Republic of Moldova of 1 November 2020 finds that 63 reports were registered from observers by 9:00.

Promo-LEX observers found a case of restricted access to the polling station. At the office 36/7 Gagauzia, Comrat, the Promo-LEX observer was restricted from accessing the section until 6:55.

Among the reported violations are the presence of advertising materials, billboards, election panels near six polling stations. Also, in five sections, the ballot boxes were not sealed according to legal procedures, and in seven sections the video process of the system installed by the CEC was interrupted.

The election observation mission is carried out by the Promo-LEX Association with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Democracy, Transparency and Accountability Program of Good Governance of the Soros Foundation Moldova, as well as the Council of Europe through the project Support for civic observation of the presidential elections of 2020 in polling stations created abroad.
