Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu came to the polls this morning together with his wife. He said that tomorrow the Republic of Moldova will have a president elected by the people.
He said that he came this morning to fulfill his duty as a citizen of the country, noting that today's election is one that will show the world what the state of the Republic of Moldova means, "if Moldovans are able to organize democratic and free elections, as they were organized before.”
"There was a lot of tension and demonstrations from politicians, not really appreciated in this campaign. Today the people put an end to these campaigns and tomorrow we will have a president elected by the people and we will have the opportunity to continue the activities meant to change things for the better in the country. To be able, as a state, to ensure a decent life for the elderly, to be able to pay pensions and salaries, to be able to offer young people the opportunity to work here in the country, to bring our people from abroad, who are the biggest value of the country at home to work here ", he said.
Today, about 2.8 million Moldovan citizens with the right to vote are expected to participate in the runoff elections. Voting centers are open from 07:00 to 21:00.
