Gala of Awards of Pria Farmers Day held in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - Farmers from Moldova members of competent associations, who recorded outstanding results in the agricultural sector this year, were awarded prizes at an event organized in Chisinau for the first time ever on 17 November – Gala of Awards Pria Farmers Day.
The ceremony of awarding prizes to agricultural producers was organized by PRIAevents of Romania, in partnership with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM), in the context of the National Farmers’ Day, annually marked in late November.
The event represents a platform of discussions, in which participants analyzed the present challenges in the farming sector, opportunities of diversifying farmers’ work through digitalizing the agriculture; the participants also exchanged good practices and assessed the results of the 2020 year, including the resources needed to start and develop agricultural businesses.
In her inaugural speech, a state secretary at MADRM, Tatiana Nistorica, appreciated the efforts and progress made by Moldovan farmers and congratulated them on the assiduous work carried out in the sector.
„The today’s event is a novel one and represents an excellent platform of celebrating the achievements of farmers, who invest work, time, knowledge and capital in the development of the native agriculture. Doubtlessly, the activity of farmers is of major importance for Moldova, as the agro-industrial sector is a valuable chain for the national economy. I offer you, on behalf of the entire people, deep thanks, respect and gratitude for the assiduous work, carried out in the agricultural activity, for the devotion, responsibility and daily effort for the development of this extremely vulnerable segment,’’ Nistorica said.
The official assured that MADRM was a reliable partner in the development of the agricultural sector, as well as in the efficient turning to account of national funds, used for enhancing the competitiveness of the farming sector, promote the sustainable agriculture and rural development, improve the capacities in the management of natural resources and natural disasters.
The Gala of Awards Pria Farmers Day, held online, was conceived in order to celebrate the notable achievements of the farmers who contribute to the development and enhancing the productivity in Moldova’s agriculture and brought together farmers from Moldova and Romania, representatives of the competent institutions and related companies.
