Moldovan government approves regulation on providing payments per head of animal

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet members, at a today’s meeting, approved a regulation on the providing of direct payments per head of animal. The regulation sets the conditions, order and procedure of providing direct payments to animal breeders.
According to ministers’ decision, the goal of the providing of direct payments per head of animal, from the national fund of development of agriculture and rural environment, is to achieve the following aims: revitalization of the zoo-technical sector; enhancing the average productivity per agricultural unit; breeding, reproduction and improvement of races and exploitation of animals and agricultural units; improving the living standards in the rural environment; adaptation to the climate changes and attenuating their effects on the agricultural production.
The government also ruled to give the right to the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry (MADRM) to: distribute the means of the national fund of development of agriculture and rural environment, in order to make the direct payments per head of animal, depending on the applications received from agricultural producers; annual allocation from the budget of the national fund of development of agriculture and rural environment of at least 30 per cent for financing applications on providing direct payments per head of animal. ‘’If the financial sources planned are not turned to account, the money will be used in line with the regulation on the conditions, order and procedure of providing the means of the national fund of development of agriculture and rural environment, approved through the Government Decision No 455/2017,’’ the document reads.
The control over the fulfillment of the present decision is entrusted with MADRM and the decision enters into force on the date of its publication in Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
