Moldova to receive grant worth 800,000 euros from japan to buy medical equipment

Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - The governments of Moldova and Japan will sign an agreement on grant for the supply of medical equipment within the programme on economic and social development.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the grant amounting to 100 million Japanese yen (equivalent to 800,000 euros) will be provided to Moldova for the purchasing of medical equipment, products and services, including for their maintenance.

Prime Minister Ion Chicu thanked the government of Japan for the support provided to Moldova. ‘’We thank the Japanese side for the permanent support provided during years and especially in this priority sector for the health care,’’ the PM said.

To turn to good account the assistance provided, more stages are to be covered: creating a consultative council; disbursing financial means; procurement, supply and subsequently use of medical equipment according to its purpose.

The financial means will be disbursed after the reception of a written notification and till 31 March 2021.
