Decision on calculation of survivor pension to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) from 20 November will publish the Government Decision which sees amendments to the way the length of pensionable service is calculated, the way of establishing the pensions and allowances to servicemen, people from the command staff and the interior bodies’ troops, employees of the National Anticorruption Centre and civil servants with special status of the penitentiaries’ administration system.
The draft’s goal is to regulate the way the survivor pension is calculated. The draft establishes the pension for the families of the military, public servants with special status, who died in an accident while fulfilling their job duties worth 50 per cent of the average monthly income of the survivor for each family member who is unable for working.
The same quantum of the pension will also be provided to the families of the aforementioned, who died in an accident non-connected with the fulfilling of job duties or in the wake of a disease contracted while fulfilling the job duties.
As for the loss of the survivor for the families of the pensioners among the military and civil servants with special status, the pension will be calculated worth 50 per cent of the quantum of the pension paid to the dead pensioner.
In the context, the pensions set till 1 January 2021 will be reexamined, and if the size of the pension after recalculation will be lower than the quantum of the pension paid, the concerned beneficiaries will receive the pension till reexamination.
The amendments will enter into force as of 1 January 2021.
