Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Mediation Centre of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Moldova was opened in Chisinau today. The opening of the centre was possible due to the support by the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The centre is set to become one of the prominent actors in the medication sector from Moldova, providing highly qualitative mediation and training services for future mediators and practitioners, thus contributing to finding a quicker, cheaper and friendlier alternative for solving litigations, according to CCI.
„Since the foundation of CCI’s Mediation Centre, we have been the organization which supports the business environment and citizens of Moldova, in order to mediate their commercial conflicts. Now that the new building has been renovated, we can contribute also with initial and continuous qualitative training for those willing to be mediators and promote the mediation in Moldova,’’ the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sergiu Harea, said.
„It is essential that Moldova attracts sustainable and sound investments. We hope that the new Mediation Centre will become a space meant for reestablishing good relations,’’ the head of the IDLO programme, Ljubomir Petruljeskov, said.
The opening of the Mediation Centre is part of the project, Moldova: Commercial Mediation and Arbitration (Phase IV), the goal of which is to improve the investment environment in Moldova through facilitating the use of the commercial mediation and arbitration nationally.
