Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall has three major priorities for medium-term activity: electronic taxation in public transport, arrangement of paid parking and construction of an energy-efficient public lighting system.
Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban participated on Thursday in a panel discussion within Moldova Business Week 2020, and spoke about the priorities of the capital administration in relation to business representatives, in order to initiate public-private partnerships.
Referring to electronic toll in public transport, he said that a pilot project to pay for the trip with a bank card will be implemented from January. At the same time, Ceban reminded that the tariffs for a trip in public transport were approved by the Municipal Council in 2009 and contradict the existing financial reality.
Referring to the paid parking, he said that the local administration is working on a regulation for the operation of paid parking in Chisinau. "We intend to create more parking spaces by building parklift and multiparker parking lots", he said.
According to the official, the third priority of the municipal administration is the construction of an energy-efficient public lighting system - the old system with high electricity consumption. "Reducing electricity costs, fully automating all major distribution points and replacing old lamps with LED street lights are steps to create a green city," he said.
