Another 100 oxygen concentrators to be distributed to medical institutions of Moldova

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - Another 100 oxygen concentrators will be distributed to medical institutions from Moldova, to treat patients in medium serious condition and serious condition. The devices were purchased with sources of the Global Fund, through the Coordination, Implementation and Monitoring Unit of the Health System Projects (UCIMP).
At a ceremony on reception of the apparatus, Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu said that these oxygen concentrators were of major importance for treating patients sick with pulmonary diseases and were indispensable in the treatment of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, who need oxygen support, in order to be able to back the organism’s vital functions.
„We will continue actions of strengthening the hospital system, in order to cope with the number of patients hospitalized,’’ Dumbraveanu stressed.
UCIMP director Nicolae Jelamschi said that the institution he represents backed the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry in combating and managing COVID-19 in Moldova. ‘’It is quite important that the hospital assistance system be endowed with needed equipment for providing patients with medical assistance,’’ Jelamschi added.
The medical devices were delivered to the state pharmaceutical warehouse, in order to be distributed to public medical and sanitary institutions of Moldova.
