More than 1,300 patients treated of COVID-19 donate plasma in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 1,357 people treated of COVID-19 have donated plasma to patients with serious and extremely serious forms of disease.
According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), as many as 4,631 doses of plasma were made from the blood collected. The plasma was distributed to the medical institutions where patients with serious and extremely serious forms of COVID-19 are under treatment.
The donation of convalescent plasma is made two weeks after discharging from hospitals by men treated of COVID-19, with ages from 18 to 60 years, who do not have chronic diseases: diabetes, cardiovascular or pulmonary diseases, diseases of liver and kidneys.
People can donate plasma both to the National Blood Transfusion Centre, which has subdivisions in Balti, Cahul and Chisinau, as well at other donation centres. To be able to donate, people will present the copy of the extract issued by the family physician or hospital which is to confirm that they successfully finished the treatment of COVID-19.
