People applying violence against physicians run risk of getting fines up to 7,500 lei in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - The violence against physicians and medical employees exercising their job duties will be sanctioned. The MPs today approved a draft on the amendment and completion of the Criminal Code and Civil Code.

Under the draft, the abusing of physicians or medical employees, i.e. deliberate offending of the their honour, dignity or professional reputation while fulfilling the job duties, will be sanctioned with fine worth up to 1,250 lei, imposed to private person. At the same time, the abusing, accompanied by acts of hooliganism and or/ bodily injury will be sanctioned with fines worth up to 7,500 lei imposed to private person or contravention arrest of up to 15 days.  

In the last years, more physicians from hospitals, as well as of ambulances were attacked by patients or their relatives.
