Deputy premier for reintegration meets United Nations resident coordinator in Moldova, WHO country representative

Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari today had a courtesy meeting with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Moldova Simon Springett and Country Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Moldova Igor Pokanevych, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The international officials conveyed cordial congratulations to the deputy premier on her appointment to office, noting the full openness for maintaining and deepening the cooperation on diverse elements which regard subjects of mutual interest.
The sides tackled aspects on the activities recently carried out with WHO’s support in Moldova, situation dealing with the spread of COVID-19 all over the country, response measures taken jointly with the national competent authorities, technical and humanitarian assistance projects implemented on both banks of Dniester, role and involvement of the UN and WHO in the promotion of confidence building measures.
Also, the officials highlighted the willingness of active involvement of all competent institutions and relevant experts, in order to implement the recommendations formulated by WHO on the efficient management of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Transnistrian region, following a visit to Tiraspol paid on 6 May 2020.
