Moldovan central electoral commission suggests increase in number of ballot papers for polling stations from abroad

Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has suggested the increase in the number of ballot papers for the polling stations from abroad from 5,000 to 10,000 ballot papers.
Av a today’s meeting, CEC approved a proposals, according to which the number of ballot papers for the polling stations from abroad should be increased from 5,000 to 10,000. This idea is contained in the report on the results of the presidential elections, approved by the members of the central electoral administration today.
The CEC deputy head, Vladimir Sarban, said that the increase in the number of ballot papers at the polling stations from abroad would ensure the right of Moldovan citizens from abroad to participate in the polls. On the day of the runoff elections on 15 November, seven polling stations from abroad closed before 21:00 over the lack of ballot papers.
