Chisinau Municipal Council approves agreement on tightening security of Tantareni waste storage site

Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), at a today’s meeting, approved an agreement on sub-financing of a non-refundable loan worth nine million euros, meant for carrying out the sub-project, Chisinau Solid Waste, signed between the Finance Ministry and the Chisinau city hall.
The agreement sees supplying financial sources through a non-refundable loan on behalf of the European Investment Bank (EIB) for implementing the project on solid waste management in the Chisinau municipality.
Under the agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Chisinau city hall has a contribution of 7.96 million euros for backing the project, of which 1.5 million euros has been already invested.
The following works will be carried out within the Chisinau Solid Waste project: re-cultivation of the temporary waste deposit from the Ciocana district of Chisinau; tightening the security of the Tantareni waste storage site; modernization of the park of special vehicles, as well as of the infrastructure for carrying waste from the city; modernization of the transfer station and setting a line for manual sorting of recyclable waste, collected separately.
