Public transport in Chisinau to be appraised on European money

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall has got funding the European Commission for expertise and modernization of municipal public transport.

Chisinau city hall informs about financing as a grant from the European Commission under the program Partnerships for sustainable cities in the Sothern and Eastern Neighborhood, projects in the municipal public transport.

Thus, Chisinau has become part of the project MOVE IT like Lublin - a Chisinau public transport sustainable development initiative, focused on integrated urban development through partnerships established between local authorities in EU member states and partner countries.

The project aims at developing the public transport system in Chisinau according to the model of organizing public transport in Lublin city (Poland), with an eligible budget for activities of 3.5 million euros, which also includes the co-financing part of the municipality of 5% total.

The project will be implemented in 2021-2023.
