Cooperation with Turkey remains priority for agriculture ministry

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/- Boosting trade between Moldova and Turkey with agri-food products, potential for interaction between business communities in both states and promoting the Moldovan agri-food products on the Turkish market is a priority for the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM).
State secretary of the ministry Tatiana Nistorica made the statement at the third meeting of the Supervisory Committee in Agriculture, which met this week in online format.
According to Tatiana Nistorica, the meeting will facilitate the implementation of existing opportunities and represent a platform for the development of joint actions and projects of mutual interest, in the medium and long term.
The parties, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment of our country and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey identified the priorities and opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, natural resources and forestry.
The agenda of the event included several topics related to the production and trade of plant products and animal products. At the same time, the fields of sanitary-veterinary, food safety, agricultural education, protection of the environment, natural resources and forestry were brought into discussion, in order to exchange experience and good practices.
The Supervisory Committee on Agriculture between Moldova and Turkey was established on June 4, 2003, based on the signing of the Agreement between the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and our Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry on economic and technical-scientific cooperation in agriculture. The Committee is a cooperation mechanism that strengthens direct relations between ministries and contributes to strengthening cooperation in the fields of agriculture, food security and forestry, as well as to identifying opportunities for the implementation of investment projects in these fields.
