No Christmas Fairs to be organized in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Inauguration of the Winter Holidays will take place on 1 December; yet, no Christmas Fairs or other topic-related fairs will be organized in Chisinau.
The Chisinau city hall informs that the Christmas Tree will be inaugurated on the Square of the Birth of God Metropolitan Cathedral and the 2020-2021 Winter Holidays will be traditionally inaugurated on 1 December. At the same time, the municipal administration informs that, due to the measures for preventing the COVID infection, no Christmas Fairs or other topic-related fairs will be organized in the centre of the Moldovan capital.
According to a press release issued by the municipal administration, the Christmas Tree from the centre of Chisinau is artificial; it is 20 metres high, the same one which was used in the previous years and has been already set. Presently, the municipal services decorate the installation with 1,000 linear metres of electric garlands and 2,800 coloured globes will be set on the days to come.
Also, three km of electric garlands, with LED lamps, will be set in the perimeter of the Great National Assembly Square, along the pedestrian alley of the Stefan cel Mare blvd., Pushkin and Metropolitan Banulescu-Bodoni Streets. Moreover, the holiday decorative illumination, consisting of 170 light elements with the shape of flakes, set on electric pillars, will be connected on the main boulevard of the capital, from the Dimitrie Cantemir Square to the Ciuflea Street.
The decorative illumination will be connected also on the main roads from the city’s districts, including the Viaduct, Dacia blvd., Ion Creanga, Alba Iulia, Alecu Russo Streets, etc.
