Moldova, Switzerland to deepen political dialogue, extend sectoral cooperation

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today received Kiev-based Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Moldova Claude Wild.

According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE), the officials confirmed both sides’ interest in deepening the political dialogue and extending the sectoral cooperation, in the context that the 20th anniversary of the setting up of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Chisinau is marked this year. The office is in charge of the planning, implementation and monitoring of the Swiss Programme on Cooperation, through which projects were financed in the fields of health, Diaspora, water and sanitation, migration, etc.

Foreign Affairs Minister Aureliu Ciocoi conveyed the appreciation of the Moldovan authorities for the solidarity and generous assistance provided by Switzerland in the fight with the COVID-19 pandemic, the financial support of which is worth 900,000 dollars.
