Moldovan, Lithuanian foreign affairs ministers discuss bilateral cooperation by phone

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and his Lithuanian counterpart  Linas Linkevičius today had a phone conversation on the present stage and prospects for developing the bilateral relations, Moldova’s European agenda, cooperation within regional and international organizations, as well as other up-to-date aspects of the Moldovan-Lithuanian bilateral agenda, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.  

The officials appreciated the advanced level of the Moldova-Lithuania political dialogue and sectoral cooperation, agreeing on the importance of strengthening the bilateral economic cooperation. In particular, Minister Aureliu Ciocoi appreciated the personal support of Linas Linkevičius for Moldova’s European integration process, as well as the generous assistance provided by the Lithuanian partners to the national health system and aimed at overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.  

The two diplomacy heads discussed in detail the developments in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, situation in the region and internationally, as well as the cooperation within international organizations. At the same time, the Moldovan diplomat invited his Lithuanian counterpart to pay a visit to Chisinau.

Also, Aureliu Ciocoi and Linas Linkevičius exchanged opinions on the recent political developments in both states, as well as the process of formation of the new government in Lithuania, following the last October parliamentary elections.
