Employment of foreigners to work in Moldova to be simplified

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/- The process of hiring foreigners to work in the Republic of Moldova will be optimized. The parliament approved a draft law to this end today.

According to the project, the obligation to notarize housing in documenting foreign workers will be excluded. Also, the employer will no longer be required to pay foreigners an average salary on the economy, as currently provided by law. According to the amendments, the foreign citizen will present for the granting of the right of residence for work purposes a copy of the individual employment contract.

The paragraph that regulates the way of documenting foreigners for work purposes based on the List of priority occupations, approved by the government will be excluded from legislation. Among the proposals included in the project is the possibility of extending the right of temporary residence only for up to 3 consecutive years.

To become law, the draft is to be adopted in the final reading.
